Chris Benedict, CPA, CA
Chris builds and scales financial foundations for high-growth companies. He began his career at Deloitte, working with public companies and helping businesses prepare to go public.
After earning his CPA, CA designation, he joined eSight, a company that used augmented-reality technology to help people who are legally blind to see. There he built operational and financial processes, helped scale a demo network, designed sales commission models, managed investor and board relations, and prepared the financial due diligence that supported the company's fundraising.
Chris was then the first finance hire at Chefhero, a Toronto marketplace connecting restaurants with wholesale food distributors. He implemented its accounting system and commercial banking, and worked with product and engineering to build invoicing, purchase-ordering and automated three-way-match features. He also supported the company's US expansion into Chicago and built the due diligence materials behind its fundraise.
Today Chris works as a fractional CFO to growth-stage and mid-market companies across consumer products, staffing, events, logistics and retail, and leads the firm's investment and acquisition activity.
